I should have known
that you were not mine that night
when the sky blushed with stars,
and bit the lower lip of her horizon.
It was not possible to cage divinity.
Either way, I still wanted you.
I set a trap,
but when I looked back
your gates closed behind me.
I should have known
that you were not mine,
I was yours.
