Heartbeats Sacrifice
Posted on February 4, 2017
Her soul played my electric heartstrings,
like Jimi Hendrix on the guitar.
Made music, set fire, and trashed
that screaming red instrument.
Leaving a mangled maroon mess
on the stage of my ribcage.
My melodic blood on her lips,
as she still chews
on the broken remnants
of a couple of heartstrings.
Off she’ll go,
on to the next guitar
for tomorrow’s show.
Gifts

She gave me her words,
adjective gift wrapping.
with noun polka dots,
verb ribbons.
I opened all the boxes,
one by one,
each one had a glowing piece
of her heart or soul in it.
I lay in the gift wrapping and ribbons
like a child on Christmas morning
with her soul and heart pieces
aglow around me.
My favorite constellation.
All she had were her words,
and all I had was her.

Uncrossing Stars
Posted on January 29, 2017
He loved her in all her chaos,
her beautiful life source energy.
Tears stumbling down
the galaxies of her cheeks
from the black holes of her eyes.
Word comets crashing from her mouth,
striking his red heart planet,
getting rid of old life
and creating new life.
She was his Big Bang,
but still left burn marks on his soul.
At night, they would drink whiskey
to gently uncross their stars,
and bring their universe in order.
All was fine.
Forbidden Verses

You left,
but my room
still smells of your soul.
Your poetry stains my sheets,
spiritual syllables from your body’s exhale,
sweet perfume of our sins.
You spoke of love,
but you only wanted to write forbidden verses,
and so did I.
So(u)lo Tears

My soul is behind the window panes of my eyes,
banging with two fists,
but not breaking through,
as this glass only shatters in private,
and only then does my soul
slide its wrists on the jagged broken windows
and bleed down my face.
Leave me alone.
Remain
Posted on January 9, 2017
I want to sleep in your eyes,
under those brown blankets
like two giant autumn leaves they cover me,
steaming sheets of hot tears
keep my naked body warm.
Close your eyes,
I want to be captivated by your darkness.
I want to feel your body move with your breath,
roll in the blackness
like waves.
Let me be
lost at sea.
Enveloped in the salt of your sighs.
Let me remain.
